Committee for Geelong Chairperson, Dan Simmonds, announced today that Jennifer Cromarty is the new CEO of the Committee for Geelong.

Mr Simmonds welcomed Ms Cromarty saying she brought an extensive range of strong credentials and experience to the important role.

“Jennifer was the outstanding choice for this role, not only as a passionate and actively engaged member of the Geelong community, but also with her strong business experience and networks,” he said.

“She has managed national membership organisations at very senior levels, together with significant political advocacy experience on major national issues and in policy development, government project management and lobbying.

“We believe Jennifer is the ideal person to lead the Committee as it not only galvanises the direction and priorities which it has forged over the past number of years, but also looks to maximise the influence and capabilities of the Committee as we head into 2019 and beyond,” Mr Simmonds said.

Before accepting the role with the Committee for Geelong, Ms Cromarty was a registered lobbyist, operating her own consulting company tandemVox Pty Ltd, and sits on several local boards and committees.

She also has experience working with a peak industry body – the Australian Retailers Association – including as both Corporate Affairs Director and Deputy Executive Director.

In 2015, Ms Cromarty also founded Creative Geelong Inc to highlight the importance of creative industries in transforming Geelong’s economic future.

“I am honoured to support Geelong as it reaffirms its place as a globally significant city. I look forward to collaborating for great outcomes for the Geelong community both socially and economically,” said Ms Cromarty.

“I’ve seen first-hand what the Committee and its members have been able to achieve on behalf of the Geelong community, and I look forward to playing my part in progressing an even bolder clever and creative future for Geelong.”

Ms Cromarty will commence full time in the role in March 2019.
