Outcome of the Commission of Inquiry into the Greater Geelong City Council

All comments to be attributed to Rebecca Casson, CEO of the Committee for Geelong.

On Tuesday 12 April 2016, the Victorian State Government tabled a report on the Commission of Inquiry into the Greater Geelong City Council.

Committee for Geelong CEO Rebecca Casson said the Committee for Geelong will now carefully review the Commissioner's report over the next few days and digest its contents.

"This will be a challenging transition for Geelong, it will be unsettling in the short term. However, in the longer term, and subject to Parliamentary approval, we are optimistic that the Commissioner's recommendations can bring some stability to our city - which does has a positive future ahead of it.

"The Committee remains dedicated to supporting the long term growth and prosperity of Geelong. We look forward to working with the City of Greater Geelong in the future to ensure our vision for a strong and resilient Geelong is delivered."
