Geelong hosts Committee for Cities Conference

Geelong will host an influential network of CEOs from around Australia and New Zealand on Monday as the Committee for Cities and Regions arrives in the city for its inaugural 2016 conference.

The Committee for Geelong (CfG) is part of an international network of like-minded organisations which brings together independent Committees.  These organisations each work to enhance the economic, social, cultural and environmental development within their city or region.

"The network aims to build on the rising strength of Australia and New Zealand's cities and regions and work together to advance issues of national significance such as population growth, economic development and social cohesion," CfG CEO Rebecca Casson said,

"To do this, the Committee for Cities network meets twice each year, and every time in a different city.  We are lucky to host the network in Geelong for its first meeting of 2016."

During the conference, the group will discuss the goals and challenges each city is currently experiencing, share best practice ideas and undertake a tour of Geelong.
