Experience the Program - Learn to Lead

The Leaders for Geelong program is a two year program that develops personal leadership capacity through a unique learning experience designed to address the current social, economic and environmental issues of importance to the Geelong region.

Participants attend 1-2 events per month where they are challenged and inspired by renowned leaders and subject matter experts, undertake 'behind the scenes' or on site tours, discuss case studies and are involved in a range of other activities delivered over the course of the program.

In addition to the experiential learning, participants will use self- review and accredited measurement tools to assess their individual leadership capabilities and develop a personal leadership development plan that will be supported throughout the program.

Program Structure

The program is structured around an intensive year of leadership focussed activities and events in year one, with participants undertaking an active learning project with their peers in the second year.

  • 1 Topic based seminar per month (9.30am to 5.00pm)
  • 1 evening event per month (5.00pm to 8.00pm)

Time Commitment

Participation in the Leaders for Geelong (LfG) program requires a significant investment in time, energy and contribution, from the individual and the employer organisation.

There are no formal examinations. However participants are required to attend the Opening and Closing Residentials (mandatory) and maintain a minimum attendance of 80% across all core program events over the two years to graduate from the program.
