Community Membership

Since its inception, the Committee for Geelong (CfG) has made a commitment to inviting local community organisations to be part of its membership base. Groups have included The National Trust of Australia (Victoria), Back to Back Theatre, Bethany Community Support, St Mary's of the Angels Basilica, Wathaurong Glass, Geelong Environmental Council, Diversitat, Victoria Police, Barwon disAbility Resource Council, Kardinia Community Services Inc., Salvation Army, Encompass Community Services Inc. and Friends of the Botanic Gardens.

The CfG Board has approved a new membership and partnership strategy, which includes broad changes across all levels of CfG memberships, including our Community membership level. The strategy includes a new way of ensuring transparency and accountability to the CfG's members.

All CfG Community Memberships will now be reviewed on an annual basis (previously every three years) and will provide a more inclusive offering, such as Community Members being eligible for nomination to the CfG's Strategy and Policy Committee (S&PC). While Community membership places are limited, we sincerely hope that you will apply to potentially work with us.

To be eligible, applicants should be a not for profit organisation within the G21 region ,which includes the municipalities of City of Greater Geelong, Surf Coast, Colac Otway, Golden Plains and Queenscliff.
